Suzann McGettigan

February 26, 1958 - February 8, 2024

Suzann was a graduate of Colonia High School and lived most of her life in Colonia, NJ before spending her past 29 years residing in Avenel, NJ. Suzann enjoyed the outdoors, especially going fishing. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Suzann is survived by her beloved sisters Christine Yackulich (Gary) and Barbara Ann Kelly (John), loving nieces and nephews Nicole Bennington (Jeremy), Brian Yackulich (Brittany), Paul Kelly (Tamara), Michael Kelly and Ashley Kelly, and cherished great nieces and nephews Genevieve Bennington, Garrett Bennington, Alayna Yackulich, Aribelle Yackulich, Gabrielle Bennington, Aria Yackulich, Millie Kelly, Rowan Kelly and Camryn Kelly.

It was Suzann’s wish that funeral services be private.

Sue and I grew around the corner from one another. Her family was on East Cliff Road, and we all played down in "The Gully" as kids. We had a great memories from High School, and I always remember the fun times we had getting together with "The 76'ers" . She was a great softball player and super nice girl and woman. She will be missed.

You were always so kind to me whenever I saw you at our high school reunions and I remember you as always being that way; kind and friendly! We will grieve and miss you, but remember your outgoing nature and great sense of humor. I’m sure that you’re a top pick in Heaven for any sports related game and that you have made /re connected with countless number of friends. May you rest in peace and know that you may be gone…but will never be forgotten ♥️

I will always remember our trips to the shore: Asbury Park and Ortley Beach. So many laughs.

I still cannot fathom the thought of your passing. We were longtime friends, not seeing or talking everyday, but when we did we picked up right where we left off.
