RARITAN- With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, we share the sad news of the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son, Saverio Todarello, who entered eternal rest on April 11, 2026, at the age of 84.
Saverio was born on March 29, 1942, in San Gregorio, D’Ippona, Calabria, Italy, where he was raised with strong values of faith, hard work, and devotion to family. In 1973, he courageously immigrated to the United States with his wife and three children, settling in New Jersey. Through determination and sacrifice, he built a life rooted in love, resilience, and unwavering commitment to those he held dear.
Saverio is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Caterina Todarello; his loving children, Maria DeLuca, Inea Todarello, and Dominic Todarello; his cherished grandchildren, Daniella Alvarado, Alessandra Ashman, Michael DeLuca, Gianna Todarello, Domenico Todarello, and Adriana Todarello, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his brothers, Domenico, Francesco, and Angelo Todarello, who reside in Italy.
He was predeceased by his parents, Domenico Todarello and Maria Grazia LoPreato, as well as his brother, Michele Todarello, and sister, Caterina Todarello.
Saverio proudly graduated from high school in Italy, enlisted in the Italian military before beginning his career in the automotive industry. After coming to the United States, he worked in maintenance at a local elementary school. Beyond his work, Saverio was a talented, self-taught mason, a craft he pursued with passion and pride in his younger years. He took immense pride in his garden and in making homemade wine, sauce, and other cherished Italian specialties.
Above all else, Saverio was a family man. His greatest joy was spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He was known for his kindness, humility, and the quiet wisdom he carried. Respected and loved by all who knew him, Saverio had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and cared for.
A devout Catholic, Saverio’s faith was a guiding light throughout his life, providing him with strength, peace and purpose.
