RARITAN- Michael Grigorov (Mikhail Yegorovich Grigorov) of Raritan, 94, died on May 4, 2020. Michael was born on November 15, 1925 in Ukraine.
Michael was raised within a big family in a small Ukrainian village, and survived the Holodomor in 1930. He grew up as a physically and spiritually strong person and always liked to face and overcome challenges.
At the age of 17, Michael was drafted to serve in the Soviet Union Army to protect USSR's boarders for 7 years.
Later in life he married a beautiful woman named Larisa who was practicing as an Intern MD in his home town. They were married for 60+ years until Larisa’s death in 2013.
Michael worked very hard as a professional welder in the Soviet Union. When he immigrated to the United States in 1989 with his family, he continued to find ways to contribute and help others by seeking part time job opportunities.
He always had a passion for flowers and music.
Together, Michael and Larisa, raised two children Rita and Alex and two gorgeous grandsons Gary and Eugene.
Michael was a very dedicated father and grandfather, and always gave all his love and soul to his children.
Michael will always be in our hearts and remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and father-in-law.
Michael is survived by his son Alex and daughter-in-law Asya, daughter Rita and son-in-law Alex, and two grandchildren Gary and Eugene.
Graveside services will be Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ.
