Michael Beresky, 82, died peacefully on Sunday January 20, 2019 in Somerville New Jersey. He was born on June 13, 1936 in Garfield NJ. Michael resided for the past 5 years at the Somerville Senior Citizens Housing in Somerville NJ. Prior to residing in Somerville, he lived in North Branch NJ. Michael was a machinist by trade and worked as a steel fabricator for many years. He had a hobby of making things with popsicle sticks and made numerous doll houses out of them. He was very detailed and family members enjoyed the houses he made for them. Michael was outgoing, friendly and was always ready and there to help. He liked the outdoors and enjoyed freshwater fishing. Michael enjoyed watching football and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was a proud American who served his beloved country honorably between 1956 and 1958 in the United States Marine Corp. An accomplishment and devotion Michael had was being a member of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) for the past 42 years. His sobriety and the assistance he gave to others in their sobriety was a very important part of his life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Ranelle. He is also survived by his daughter Marybeth Doyle (husband Richard) of Pequannock NJ and son in law Peter Doroshenko of Fairlawn NJ. Michael was 1 of 14 siblings and is survived by his sister Judy of Lodi NJ, sister Eleanor of Butler NJ and brother Joseph of Toms River NJ. He will be sadly missed by the joys of his life, his grandchildren, Caitlin Doyle and Victoria Doroshenko.
Michael was predeceased by his parents and his daughter Catherine Doroshenko (2006)
