SOMERVILLE, NJ- MaryAnn “Mar” Reh, 64, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25th, 2026.
Born on December 30, 1961, in Somerville, New Jersey, Mar was the daughter of Vincent Sr. and the late Mary “Sue” (McLaughlin) Reh. She graduated from Somerville High School in 1979 and Somerset County College in 1981.
MaryAnn was a beloved member of the Somerville community. For many years, she served the Borough of Somerville as Deputy Registrar and worked closely with both the Downtown Somerville Alliance and the Somerville Farmers Market.
In the summer, MaryAnn often visited Bamboo Brook with her family, where she enjoyed identifying wildlife and plants of all kinds.
Mar was deeply selfless. Though she was initially afraid of dogs, she did not hesitate to adopt Levon, a lab/pit mix with an unforgettable goofy grin. After Levon passed away, she welcomed Bella, a senior “forever foster” from Rescue Ridge, an organization especially close to her heart.
In her free time, MaryAnn loved exploring new artistic mediums, especially chalk, oils, and pastels. She also had a keen eye for fashion and often sketched clothing designs.
Skincare was an important part of her daily routine, and she kept up with the latest trends and products. Mar also loved cooking, trying new recipes from her extensive cookbook collection, and making a great breakfast sandwich.
Her sharp sense of humor ranged from lighthearted puns to dark wit, and laughter was how she found her way through difficult moments. May her beautiful smile live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Mar is survived by her father, Vincent Sr.; her younger brothers, Vincent and Matthew Reh; her younger sister, Colleen Reh-Sweeney; her nieces, Eileen and Cecilia Cormier; nephew Donohue Sweeney; and “nibling” TJ Sweeney. She is predeceased by her mother, Sue, and her younger sister, Kathleen “Katy” Cormier.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Cuoco Funeral & Cremation Services Funeral Home, 10 West End Avenue, Somerville, NJ (908) 707-2058.
