BRIDGEWATER- Marilyn Podinker (Nee: Gross), age 84, of Bridgewater, NJ passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 9, 2024.
Born in Passaic, NJ, Marilyn spent many years in Roseland before making Bridgewater her home 15 years ago. She dedicated her career to Hudson City Savings Bank, where she served as Assistant Manager until her retirement. Marilyn’s greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family and friends. She loved sharing a meal with loved ones and the thrill of hitting a jackpot at the slots.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Fred S. Podinker, brothers, Arthur and Ronald Gross, and her sister, Lillian Natter.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Michelle D. Messarosh, and her husband, David, of Warren, NJ; her two sons, Alan R. Podinker and his wife, Blanca, of Whitehouse Station, NJ; and Glen Podinker and his wife, Barbara, of Flemington, NJ. Marilyn was the cherished “Mimi” and “Grammy” to her grandchildren: Kendyl, Brooke, Danyka, Aiden, Lucas, and Kiera.
Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at The Cuoco Funeral Home, 10 W. End Ave, Somerville, NJ 08876 Calling hours are from 10 am to 11am, Rabbi Ron Broden will officiate the service from 11 am to 12 pm. A funeral procession will leave from the funeral home approximately around 12pm. Interment is scheduled for 1pm at Samptown Jewish Cemetery in South Plainfield. Shiva will be observed immediately afterward at the home of Michelle and David in Warren, NJ.
Marilyn’s warmth, laughter, and zest for life will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
