BRIDGEWATER- It is with deep sorrow to announce the death of Joan E. Weiss, age 98, on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Monarch of Basking Ridge, NJ.
She was born in Roscommon, Ireland on June 14, 1928 to the late Rachael and John Patrick Devine.
Joan began her career as a teacher and later worked as a secretary for the Somerset County Public Defender’s Office. Well read and thoughtful, she appreciated Shakespeare, English poetry, art, and painting. She also passed on to her children her love of European travel and the arts. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Joan will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Joan is survived by her loving daughter, Jane Weiss; her sons, Richard and Andrew Weiss; her cherished granddaughter, Alison Devine; and relatives in Ireland and England. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard A. Weiss.
