SOMERVILLE-  We sadly announce the passing of Bethelda Montejo Daras, 94, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in the Philippines on October 17, 1932 to the late Domingo Japson and Remedios Alcazar Montejo.

Bethelda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  She cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed seeing friends at the adult day care center.  In her spare time, she loved following news from her home country, the Philippines, on her cellphone.

Bethelda will be sadly missed by her children Jun and wife Maricar, Danilo and wife Bing and Fe husband Jimmy, Baby and husband Bubu and Ferdie and wife Marie and cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, 2 daughters-in-law Carmen and Beth Daras and many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her husband Loreto Daras, 4 children and her parents.

Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at the Cuoco Funeral & Cremation Services Funeral Home, 10 West End Avenue, Somerville, NJ (908) 707-2058.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville, New Jersey followed by a private service at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, NJ.
