Formerly of SCOTCH PLAINS- Madeline R. Gray, 87, died on Friday, January 10, 2025. She was born to the late Mary (nee Damato) and Thomas Tedino in Jersey City, NJ.
Madeline was a kind and caring woman. She was employed as a crossing guard in Scotch Plains, a day care assistant at the Scotch Plains “Y”, a nurse’s aide and held her last job at B.J. ‘s in Watchung, NJ. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching “Fox” news, all old-time movies, old-time television shows, and going shopping. As the years went by and televisions became bigger and better, Madeline would upgrade her televisions to keep up with the times. Once she learned how to use modern technology, Madeline was shopping on Amazon. She loved to play the slot machines in Atlantic City, NJ and going out to lunch with her sisters and niece. Madeline tried to live a fulfilling life but was broken-hearted after the death of her husband Thomas H. Gray in 2011 and her son Thomas Joseph Gray in 2018.
Madeline is survived by her sisters Mary Lou Peterson and Jean Parks, and nieces, nephews and a great niece. She is predeceased by her husband, her son, her parents, a nephew Frank Tymczak in 1992 and a great nephew Alex Cooke in 2024.
