Thomas C Reeder of Raritan, NJ
January 10, 1953 – April 20, 2025
Thomas, preferred to be called Tom, 72, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Dorothy Reeder; as well as his beloved wife—the love of his life—JoAnn Reeder.
Surviving are his children, Julia & Rich Polyak, Mike & Cheryl Reeder and Jeff & Torrie Reeder; his grandchildren, Adam & Gabrielle Polyak, Michael Reeder II, Samantha and Jakob Long, Marc Reeder, Brian Wolfe, Shane Wolfe, Jeffrey Reeder Jr and Thomas Reeder, as well as the newest family addition; his great grandson, Jensen Long. Also surviving are his brother Don Reeder & his partner Barbara Lutz and his sister Alaine French & her husband Jim – as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved fiercely. If you knew Tom, you know that his greatest joys were his grandchildren, that is, until his only granddaughter made him a great grandfather! He was over the moon to obtain that title.
He retired from Merck as the Associate Director of Technical Architecture in 2014 and began to enjoy his hobbies and pastimes to the fullest. During his retirement, in 2018, he became a Rutgers Certified Master Gardener and enjoyed sharing his knowledge of gardening with others. His hobbies included traveling the states to watch baseball games in as many stadiums as he could, as well as finding jazz clubs to listen to the music he loved. However, his favorite pastime was attending NJ Devils games with his grandchildren.
Tom was the type of man that loved his family fiercely and made sure they all knew just how much that was. So instead of saying goodbye, because he will be in our hearts and minds forever, we will say until we see you again, we love you.
A service will be held at Cuoco Funeral Home, 10 West End Ave, Somerville, NJ 08876 on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.
