With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Helena J. Lanzi, age 78, who peacefully left us on Monday, February 9, 2026, at her cherished home in Bridgewater, NJ.  Born to Emilia and Leonid Jefimowicz in Frille, District of Minden, Germany, on January 22, 1948, Helena brought warmth, kindness, and vibrant energy to all who knew her.   Her legacy of love and generosity shines through her family, who carry forward her spirit and gentle wisdom.  Helena’s unwavering support for her family and friends, her passion for cooking, and her lifelong dedication to music and art—including watercolor painting, ceramics, and playing in her father’s Gospel Balalaika Orchestra—were just some of the many gifts she shared with the world.

Helena enjoyed traveling all over the world. She could always be found sitting alongside her husband while dining out. Helena especially loved exploring and tasting local delicacies with her husband.  She was a devoted wife, a cherished mom, friend and cat lover whose kindness and vibrant spirit touched countless lives.  Helena’s memory will forever bloom in the hearts of those she loved and inspired.

Helena is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years John A. Lanzi, her son Wade Ernst and daughter-in-law Mary Ann, a sister-in-law Janet Czajkowski and a host of nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her parents, her siblings and her cherished Himalayan cat “Sweetie”.
